What is a subdomain and how do I create one?

A subdomain is a domain that is a part of a main domain. It's a unique website with a unique URL, but it's still attached to the main domain. For example, my.demonbolthost.com is a subdomain of demonbolthost.com.

You don't have to pay for subdomains, as they are just an extension of a domain you already paid for, but be mindful of the amount of storage that each of your subdomains can take up as it counts towards your quota.

There are many uses for a subdomain. If you wish to have a separate site for your store while still connected to your main domain, you could use shop.example.com or use forums.example.com if you want to have a forum panel for your users.

How do I add a subdomain?
Login to cPanel
Click Subdomains
Type the prefix for your subdomains then click Add
Under Document Root, enter the path where you will add your subdomain's site contents - this is usually auto-filled to ./sub.domain.com/________
